The Device entity contains detailed information about the type, manufacturer, model, serial number, and current status of the device.

In addition, it has the Technical Data entity to record any additional technical information about the device.

The Device entity can exist without the Installation entity, it can be registered before its installation, although the recommended configuration is that a current installation on the device is always registered indicating the Service Point in which it is located, whether or not it is a contractable active point (e.g.: warehouse, office, workshop, etc…).

The Device entity is required in case it is a measurement recorder to integrate with the Metering module.

In the event that they are devices that doesn’t support meterings, it is recommended to include them as Technical Characteristics of the Installation or Service Point.

Create a new Device

To create a new Device it’s required to click “New Installation” button on Service Point flexipage because a Device is always “Installed” on any Service Point.

It’s required that any Device must be related to a Installation and a Service Point, so the creation of any Device needs to be done through the creation of a new Installation related to a Service Point.

There are Warehouse category in the object Service Point to enable the creation of the Device before its intallation on a Service Point available to order in.
