Introduction

The CPQ Functionality is triggered in different ways:

  • New Order: When you create a new Order you’ll access the different CPQ functionalities as the Product Catalog Browser, Order Cart and Product Configurator.
  • Asset Modification Orders: When you request an Asset Modification, Disconnection or Owner Change it will create automatically and Order in which you’ll be able to manage the different CPQ functionalities.

Order Cart

From The Order Cart you can manage the different Order Items included in an Order. From there you can:

  • Create New Order Items
  • Edit Existing Order Items
  • Delete Order Items
  • Duplicate Order Items

You’ll find the different options in very clearly way in the Cart Component in the Order.
For Usabalitiy and User Experience, by default the Cart is not shown in the Order Item page, as we consider that for scenarios with a single Order Item it doesn’t add any value. But you can easily add it to the Order Item page layout.

Product Catalog Browser

The Catalog Browser will show you the different available Catalogs, Sections and Products.

If a product is available or not is determined by:

  • Record visibility / Sharing Rules
  • Visibility Rules defined in the Product Catalog

From the Catalog Browser you’ll be able to navigate through the different Catalogs and Sections and add Products to the Order Cart.

Product Configurator

The Product Configurator is the most powerful and complex part of the CPQ Functionality. It allows you to configure the different Product Attributes and Components and add them to the Order Cart.

The Product Configurator is divided in different sections:

  • Product Attributes: They are single fields that can be configured by the user. They can be of different types: Text, Number, Picklist, etc.
  • Component Section: They are used to group different Components. They can be used to group Components that are mandatory, optional, etc. Or Maybe you can use them to group Discounts.
  • Components: They are the different Child Products that can be added included in the current product as Addons. They can also have attributes and child components. If you can select or not a component depends on the current configuration and the Cardinality Rules set in the relationship setup for the product. In any case, the UI will inform about any validation.
