Service Point Management

The Service Point entity is key to link the CPQ (Contract Requests, Quotes, Contracts), Field Work (Work Orders), Sales (Opportunities, Offers) and Service (Requests and Complaints) entities with the physical location of the service or activity provision.

The module includes some specific methods that can be integrated into any solution for the management of Service Point and its related entities.

The Service Point entity by default does not have a direct Account relationship as owner as such, because it can be related to customers through the contracting or provision of services and requests with the following entities (Asset, Agreement, Work Order, Case…).

The standard structure is to contract on a Service Point where basic technical information is defined to validate and select the correct configuration of the product in the contract. Along time is possible to change the Account of the contract but never the service point, it should require a new contract.

Service Point hierarchical relatinship can be used to define the network topology enabling control and advice of many activities like outage.

Warehouse Service Point category is used to register Devices before its installation on a Service Point available to order in and also unistalled devices.


Service Point Hierarchy

The Service Point entity is designed to hierarchically relate all the locations of the map of services and related activities as well as the topology of devices, facilities and technical characteristics of each one.

The Warehouse Service Point category allows the management of storage, repair and management of devices that are not installed in a Service Point available for contracting and servicing.


Create a new Service Point

Service Point Management provides a flow to integrate in your business process to locate or create a Service Point.

It starts with the Account, the flow receives Account Id then the platform will show different options to locate an existent Service Point or manually create a new one.

Search By Code:

Introduce Service Point Code (Name) to search and select the Service Point before continue the process.

Account’s Related Service Point:

The process automatically search all the Service Points located on any Address related with the Account.

Account’s related addresses model should be defined in the settings module. For instance Contact’s addresses could be considered also related to the Account.

Provide standard integration with google maps to locate the Service Point.

Service Point entitiy includes geolocation fields to store the coordinates of the Service Point. The map will show the geolocation iof the service point or in case it is not defined it will show the address location (premise adress).

New Service Point:

In case you need to create a new Service Point, the process allows you to select one of the account’s related addresses if the new Service Point is located at one of these addresses.

After selecting the address, the process will show the Service Point form to fill the required fields.

If the Service Point is not located at any of the existing addresses, the process allows you to add a new address related to the customer.

Set Country and City values from picklist and then write the address details in Single Line.

Search process integrates with external service to return the normalized addresses identified with the provided data.

After selecting the address from the list the system will automatically try to locate the address in the current system addresses and so evaluate if there are any Service Point related to that address in the current system.

If so the system will show the list of Service Points, you can select one of them to continue the process.

If not, the process will show the Service Point form to fill the required fields.

Depending on you own businness rules and normalized addresses service integration you can also create a “Non Normalized” address to be used in the system.

Locate Connection Point

The Connection Point is a special Service Point that is used to define the main connection point of the network.

Service Point Management provides a flow to integrate in your business process to locate or create a Connection Point.

It starts with the Service Point, the flow receives Service Point Id then the platform will try to find a Service Point of type ‘Connection’ in the same Premise.

If the Connection Point is not found, the process will show the form to search or create a new Connection Point.

You can search the Connection Point by Code.

If click toggle option the platform will show the form to create a new Connection Point.

Click on the button to create a new Connection Point and automatically associate it with the selected Service Point since you started the process.
